China,who had looked so composed in their earlier two matches were unable to deal with the ferocity or versatility of the USA attack and, on her 100th cap, Jackie Kintzer in the USA goal was a spectator for most of the game.     Germany's World Cup hopes fade as they fail to pressure Las Leonas

    Carlos Retegui had a good day at the office as his women's team joined the Argentina men's team at the top of their respective pools after beating Germany 3-0. Las Leonas still give the impression of a team that hasn't yet hit top gear, as they put in a workmanlike performance to overcome a German side that was hardworking, but lacked the flair necessary to pressure the Argentine defence. Manuel Brunet (31') was the hero of the match as he scored from the tightest of angles to give Argentina the lead over Germany in a match that was not only a classic confrontation between two teams playing two very different styles of hockey, but also one that, despite the sole goal, was packed with incident and drama.     Kolojejchick equaliser earns USA point against reigning World Champions Argentina

    A 64th minute strike from Kelsey Kolojejchick earned 10th-ranked USA a point against reigning World Champions Argentina in an entertaining but rainy contest at the GreenFields Stadium. Kolojejchick's close range finish proved to be enough to seal a 2-2 result against Las Leonas, cancelling out a stunning second half strike from eight times World Player of the Year Luciana Aymar.     Peillat scores the lone goal for Argentina in 3-1 loss to the Netherlands

    In their opening game of the Rabobank Hockey World Cup 2014 in The Hague, Argentina’s Los Leones fell 3-1 to a Netherlands contingency, who were backed by a capacity 15,000-member home crowd. Gonzalo Peillat was the lone goal scorer for Argentina, capitalizing on a penalty corner to send the teams into half-time with a 1-1 score line. More

    USA and Argentina each pick up three points in their openers at the Rabobank Hockey World Cup

    Paige Selenski dealt a dagger to the hearts of English fans as she celebrated her 100th cap with a goal in the third minute of play. USA upset the No. 3-ranked England 2-1 in the Pool B women’s opener to take three points. Meanwhile, it was an easy task for Argentina who downed No. 11 South Africa 4-1 thanks after getting on a roll from two first half penalty corner strikes from Silvina D’elia. More

    The Trinidad and Tobago Hockey Board held its Schools and Youth Awards for 2014 at the Indoor Arena of the Eastern Regional sports complex. Mr. Tobias Ottley (Executive Manager of the Elite Development and Performance Unit at SPORTT) and Mr. Roger Daniel (T&T Olympian in the sport of shooting) were on hand to address the crowd of young and enthusiastic players emphasizing the need for a holistic approach to playing sports.
