El primer partido semifinal fue entre los vecinos Argentina y Chile. Argentina tomo la ventaja muy temprano con un 1-0 convertido por Rosario LUCHETTI en el minuto 4. Argentina continuo dominando la posesión y puso presión en el ataqué.  La defensa de Chile se mantuvo fuerte y evito que Argentina convirtiera de corner corto. En el minuto 22 Argentina amplio la diferencia con gol de Soledad GARCIA de corner corto.  En el minuto 27 Carolina GARCIA de Chile recibió tarjeta amarilla. La defensa de Chile continuo jugando bien e impidió que Argentina volviera a anotar antes de ir al descanso. El resultado permaneció 2-0.

En el segundo tiempo Argentina continúo dominando la posesión. La defensa chilena mantuvo alejada a Argentina durante la primera parte del segundo tiempo Pero Argentina aumento con un hermoso gol de AYMAR en el minuto 47 y nuevamente en el minuto 56 con GARCIA. Por el resto del partido la defensa de Chile fue efectiva manteniendo a Argentina fuera del ataque. Chile también tuvo unas pocas oportunidades de ataque en el segundo tiempo pero solo recibió su primer corner corto en el segundo periodo, sin lograr anotar. El resultado final fue 4-0 para Argentina sobre Chile. Con este resultado Argentina consiguió un lugar en la final y Chile jugara por el tercer lugar.

It was a very difficult match. We worked well on defense and marked well. I think we reduced their spacing and passing lanes and so I am satisfied with the work we did on defense. At the same time, if you play a lot of the match without the ball, it is difficult to generate scoring opportunities to win the match.

The most important for this match was that we prepared well and we knew what to expect. And that we had lots of patience, especially when entering our attacking area. We only scored off one penalty corner. I believe their goalie did a good job. We were also rotating our plays and players and we always keep our confidence and patience and know that eventually the [penalty corner goals] will happen.
