Following the conclusion of the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games hockey tournament, the Pan American Hockey Federation (PAHF) has updated the qualifications for the Pan American Games to be held in Guadalajara, Mexico in October 2011.

The teams that have qualified for the Men’s competition are:

  • Mexico (host)
  • Argentina (1st at South American Championships)
  • Chile (2nd at South American Championship)
  • Trinidad and Tobago (2nd at CAC Games)
  • Barbados (3rd at CAC games)
  • Canada (1st at Pan Am Cup)
  • USA (2nd at Pan Am Cup)

The final team will be determined as the winner of the playoff series between Brazil and Cuba, to be played in Brazil at a date and time to be determined.

The teams that have qualified for the Women’s tournament are:

  • Mexico (host)
  • Argentina (1st at South American Championships)
  • Chile (2nd at South American Championships)
  • Trinidad and Tobago (1st at CAC Games)
  • Barbados (3rd at CAC Games)
  • USA (2nd at Pan Am Cup)
  • Canada (5th at Pan Am Cup)

The final team will be determined as the winner of the playoff series between Jamaica and Cuba, to be played in Jamaica at a date and time to be determined.

Both the men’s and the women’s playoff series will be played in 2010.
