Pan American Hockey Federation (PAHF)

To:                  All PAHF Affiliated National Associations

Dear Members,

The Pan American Hockey Federation (PAHF) is continuously working at all possible levels to turn Competitions into Events, where more than just matches will take place. Development, Coaching, Technical and Umpiring Courses and/or Workshops will be conducted simultaneously with match competitions. PAHF Board Meetings, Congresses and Committee Planning Meetings may also be held as part of these Events.

During the year of 2011, the PAHF awarded Events to countries that had presented proper bids, by filling out Bid Forms as proposed by the Competitions Committee (attached). The fundamental idea with this procedure is to provide plenty of information for the PAHF Board of Directors to decide which country will be able to offer conditions to organize a PAHF Event for all member countries, to raise the profile of the sport in the host nation and to advance the status of Hockey in the Americas.

Moreover, the PAHF considers the use of Indoor Hockey to be a good strategy to promote the sport in countries that are starting hockey development or who do not possess artificial turf fields and facilities. Therefore, the PAHF plans to hold future Events focusing on U-17, U-19 and U‐21 for Outdoor and Indoor categories in order to promote and encourage development, exchange and international competition to elevate the standard of Hockey in the Americas.

Considering the above and the Events not awarded yet, we are pleased to call all our member National Associations to bid for hosting one or more of the PAHF Events as listed below for the period 2013‐2015:
