PAHF Continental High Performance Coaching Course

The Pan American Hockey Federation (PAHF) is pleased to invite Coaches of the continent to join the High Performance Hockey Coaching Course at the University of British Columbia Vancouver, during the 4-NATIONS Women (CAN, CHI, JAP, TRI) and 3-NATIONS Men (CAN, CHI, TRI), both Hockey Tournaments will be held from 15 to 24 of July 2011.

Course Information:

The Course will be carried out from July 19, 7 PM to July 24, 12 PM with certificate delivery. The course includes theoretical sessions, match observation during tournament and a practice at the court. This will be an excellent opportunity for the coaches of the Continent to be graded on the new accreditation system and exchange technical information with other Continental colleagues, at an International Event. The Course will be dictated in English and Spanish. Participants will be limited to 25. Also there will be place for 5 observers, at the most. The Conductors will be: Rodolfo “Chiche” Mendoza, FIH Master Coach, and Guillermo Fonseca, FIH Coach Grade I.

 

Course Activities:

• Registration, Opening & Introduction of the Course Conductors and participants.

• Theoretical sessions (room), practical sessions, special presentations, and contributions of the participants;

• Analysis of the matches of the Hockey Tournaments;

• Official Closing and delivery of participation certificates and CD with Course Contents;

Notes:   
1- All participants will receive the complete program of the course after their final registry. Remember to bring your own sports outfits and hockey sticks for the practical sessions;

2- Aptitudes of the Participants: Coaches who will participate in this course are expected to have good knowledge and experience coaching high performance hockey, at least at national level. The participants will have to be able also to transfer their new know-how to other coaches in their countries so that the PAHF can be sure that the standards of High Performance Coaching through this progressive and effective learning are being reached and, the process of education improved.

3 - Venue: All Matches, Trainings and Classes will be held at the University. The pitch is approximately a 15 minute walk from the official tournament residence and a 15 minute drive from Downtown Vancouver. Participants must care for their own transport arrangements to and from airport as well as during their stay.

 

Cost for Participation:

The cost for participation in the Course will be of US$250, which includes 5 nights of accommodation at the Totem Park Residence at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, B.C. (http://www.housing.ubc.ca/totem-park/totem-overview), in Double Room, breakfast, the right to attend the course and a certificate of official participation issued by the PAHF. For those who will not be staying at the Residence at UBC, course fee is US$50. Meals will be available at the Totem Dining Room and prices (not including taxes) are described below:

Lunch US$9 // Bag Lunch US$9 // Dinner US$11.25 // Food vendors will be available at the field.
