Brasil y Uruguay jugaron el segundo partido femenino del día 4. Uruguay salió al ataque temprano y ganó su primer corner corto a los pocos minutos de juego, pero el tiro fue bloqueado por la portera brasilera Andrea GOMES BERNARDES.

El juego continuó en la zona de ataque de Uruguay durante el primer tiempo.  Uruguay recibió un número de corners cortos en el primer tiempo pero la defensa brasilera se mantuvo fuerte, y no permitió concretar. Uruguay finalmente rompió la defensa brasilera en el minuto 25 con un gol de Teresa VIANA.. Inmediatamente después de recomenzar el partido VIANA volvió a marcar poniendo el partido 2-0 a favor de Uruguay.  La defensa brasilera siguió aguantando la presión de Uruguay finalizando el primer tiempo 2-0.

 

Brasil salió al ataque al comenzar el segundo tiempo, y en minutos gano su primer corner corto del partido. La portera de Uruguay Rossana PASELLE tuvo una gran atajada con el palo y evitó que Brasil marcara. Con Uruguay todavía dominando  la mayor parte del segundo tiempo, Brasil se replegó en la defensa. La defensa de Brasil evitó que su rival convirtiera más goles, y aun con la tarjeta amarilla que recibió la brasilera Patricia BOOS en el minuto 65, el resultado permaneció 2-0 a favor de Uruguay.

I am very happy with the result and how Uruguay played. We have one step more until the Final match and I want to get to the final.

On the difference between the first and second halves…

Brazil played very intense and aggressive in the first half, while Uruguay was more calm. In the second half, I think we took away Brazil’s chances and continued to play our game.

We are gaining more and more experience. And are still learning the game and our rhythm as well as the little things we need to learn. With each game we improve.

In the first halve we pressured more and in the second half I thought we improved, but so did Uruguay. We did a good job of defending Uruguay’s short corners to prevent them from scoring off of them. So I thought we did really good and I am content with the match. We continue to grow and we know we need to score more than Guyana to get to the final.
