FIH Hockey Series Open (men) - Chili vs. Uruguay
Day 2  of men’s Hockey Series in Santiago, was marked by the celebrations, frustrations and surprises .
Chile could not overcome Uruguay
The last match of the day of this Wednesday was without doubt the most intense vibrant game so far. A big crowd of hockey fans encouraged the team led by Jorge Dabanch until the last seconds. The silver medalists of Cochabamba could not capitalized different goal situations.
With faces of frustration after not being able to overcome the Cimarrones, and their constant preassure during the 60 minutes of game, Chile couldnt find a way to score. Uruguay played great part of the game defending their area and trying not give spaces to the different schemes that Chile tried to implement to make the goal. Although they were repeatedly close to being able to do it, they did not achieve it.
When the final whistle was heard, Uruguay’s bench  and hockey fans that came to support them, broke out in celebrations after obtaining this draw against Chile.
Brazil tookover Peru
Although at the 3rd minute of the game Bruno Bitencourt  scrored for Brazil, the game against Peru remained relatively quiet until the second quarter , because from then on, Brazil did not stop attacking the area defended by the goalkeeper Felix Mafferetti (PER) that together with his defense managed to avoid more goals.
While the total control throughout the match was for Brazil, his opponents had several opportunities they could not capitalized. The closest they were to score, was after a penalty corner in the last quarter in which Peru could not execute it successfully.
With goals by Lucas Paixâo (x4), Joaquín López (x3), Bruno Bitencourt and Paul Duncker The score ended 9-0 .
Venezuela gets a new victory against Bolivia
Yesterday the Venezuelan team celebrated because they won a game as soon as they got off an extensive trip to reach the Hockey Series in Santiago, today they reaffirmed it after winning by 14-0 against Bolivia.
With 8 FG and 6 PC Venezuela scored 14 goals  to compete with the dream of being able to go ahead with the tournament.
