Niagara Falls, Canada

We should first say that the 4 Nations Test Matches was actually played by five teams: Argentina, USA, South Africa and two teams from Canada, Team A and B played in Toronto on December 5- 7. From some footages of the matches posted in the Internet and what we have seen at CENARD in Argentina, we can say Argentina is getting closer to Indoor top teams.

A fully renewed National Team did well at the tournament. First match against Canada was a draw 3-3 while in the second Argentina lost against South Africa 3-6. But Argentina came back with a victory 4-3 on USA and was narrowly defeated by the Champion, Canada A Team 2-1, losing the chance of the final.

Anyhow the Argentineans showed their nerve in the match for the 3rd place beating USA 7-0, happy ending for Argentina that gained a place on the podium. The first place was for Canada A Team after defeating South Africa 6-3.

Argentinean National Team had their reward thru Captain Emma Yanzi, River player, who received the award for Player of the Tournament. Yanzi said: “We played well, and played in the same level as our rivals, the difference was in the details (defensive and attacking).  We can say we are a team that is growing, 7 out of 12 players were playing for the first time in the National team, compared to our opponents who will be playing the World Cup. We have succeeded in team building inside and outside the pitch”

Laura Dell Colle, experienced GK explained that Indoor players come from all parts of Argentina from  Bariloche in the South, Córdoba in the center of the country, Buenos Aires,  Rosario and San Juan. 7 players got their first cap in Toronto; BEROLA Maria Francisca, ARGERICH Florencia, LUNA Julieta, SAUCEDO Joaquina, GONDELL Mia, PERISOTTO Viviana, VILLARRUEL Aldana.

The full team had the chance of 4 days training sessions in Buenos Aires before travelling to Toronto. The balance is positive as the team played at the same level of those participating at the World Cup in Germany.

Laura thanked the Argentinean Confederation and Canada players for their participation at the 4 Nations. Locals gave them a warm and happy welcome, and they had the chance to visit this beautiful city, Toronto. She highlighted the importance of these tournaments to improve their performance and human relationships.
