We are finally very close to the opening of this important event in Central America. The newest countries of the Pan American Hockey family will participate in their first ever Indoor Hockey Championship in Central America.

San Jose de Costa Rica will host the I Central America Indoor Hockey Championship for men and women from August 15 - 17. Costa Rica and El Salvador will make their presentation in the international scene. Guatemala, Panamá and Ecuador are also participating of the event.

Starting on August 13th there is an educational program for umpires and officials. Cinthia Melli (ARG) will be the conductor of the Umpiring course and Adrian Della Mattia (ARG), the Tournament Director, will conduct the Technical course. Umpires and Officials of the participating countries and representatives of Honduras will attend the course.

The event is part of the Pan American Hockey Federation (PAHF) development program; it is the aim to raise the level of hockey and increase the exposure of the sport.

On Monday 11th Laura Macchiotti the Event Coordinator participated of a meeting with dignitaries of the Olympic Committee of Costa Rica and local hockey Federation to support Costa Rica and encourage to work towards hockey development.

PAHF representative will work with Mr Pablo Araya Madrigal (President of the National Association) and Bernardo Picado (Vice President) to develop a National Plan for Hockey Development.
