Cuba was proud to receive the visit of the International Hockey Federation Mr. Leandro Negre, accompanied by Mr. Alberto (Coco) Budeisky, President of Pan American Hockey Federation, last week.

Havana hosted the meeting with José Ramón Fernández (President of Cuban Olympic Committee) and Julio Cristian Jiménez Molina (President of INDER), where interesting discussions around hockey development in Cuba, took place.

Pan American Hockey Federation President travelled to Ciego de Ávila province together with  Alex Hernández  Gómez (President of Cuban Federation) and Andrés  Zirulnikoff (Forbex expert), where they were welcomed by Governmental and Sports dignitaries of the province, and made the final arrangements for the new artificial sand pitch to be built in the venue close to “Sala Multifuncional  Deportiva”.

The venue of the National School of Hockey in “Santiago de las Vegas” part of “Rancho Boyero” served as site of the meeting of the top dignitaries of International Hockey and Pan American Federation with players of Cuban male and female national teams, and technical staff responsible for the athletes’ development.

It came clear from the visit that Cuba must return to the international hockey scenario, and the new artificial pitch will help as it will make possible the organization of top international events at this iconic Sports venue.
