In Montevideo, Uruguay the 2014 Indoor Pan American Cup for both men and women, respectively is about to start. The Indoor Pan American Cup will take place between Monday April 7th and Saturday April 12th at The British Schools. Each winner will qualify for the 2015 World Cup to be held in Germany February 3rd-8th, 2015.

On the Men’s side the teams participating in the 2014 Indoor Pan American Cup are: Argentina; Canada; Guyana; Uruguay; United States.  Argentina is led by the senior leadership of Keeper Alejandro Garbuglia (27 caps) and Guillermo Luna (28 caps), both of whom participated in the last Indoor Pan American Championship in 2010 where Garbuglia was Captain. In 2010, the Argentina men finished in third place.  Canada is led by Jonathan Roberts (41 caps), Jeewanjot Sing Bath (46 caps), and Keeper Gowrishankar Premakanthan (39 caps), who together helped Canada win the 2010 Indoor Pan American Championship. Guyana is coached by Robert Fernandes who participated in the 2010 Indoor Pan American Championship where Guyana finished in fifth place; the Captain from that squad, Devin Munroe, with teammates Robert France and Aderemi Simon, are here in Uruguay.  Host Uruguay is an experienced squad with half its players with 40 caps or more. Behind Captain Maximiliano Tixe (47 caps), Uruguay looks to improve upon its 6th place finish at the 2010 Indoor Pan American Championship in which Tixe and others participated. The United States also has an experienced squad behind Captain Robert Schillings (33 caps): who with teammates Keepers Jason Wellings and Kevin Segeren;  Thomas Krauss; and Moritz Runzi led the United States to a second place finish in 2010.

On the women’s side, Argentina won the 2010 Indoor Pan American Championship and come to Uruguay with a mix of experience. Argentina’s Emma Yanzi (28 caps) is the most experienced and along with María Eugenia Nimo and Romina Zanni Braccio played on the Championship team in 2010. Canada brings a young, but experienced team. Behind Keeper Kathryn Williams, Kristen Shier, and Amanda Woodcroft Canada will look to improve upon its fifth place finish in 2010. Uruguay is led by the same Keeper Rossana Paselle and Captain Patricia Campos of the 2010 team that helped Uruguay to a second place 2010 Indoor Pan American Championship finish. Carolina Mutilva, Agustina Nieto, and Isabel Olaso also participated in 2010; while Sofia Mora recently was the Uruguayan Captain at the 2013 Outdoor Pan American Cup. While the United States finished in third at the 2010 Indoor World Cup, the United States has brought a completely new squad to Uruguay. The United States will be led by Captain Rachael Milne (11 caps) and veteran keeper Maria Keesling.
