It is with deep sadness that the International Hockey Federation (FIH) announces that Rosa de Massa passed away. The Argentine De Massa was FIH Member of Honour and former Vice-President and Council Member of the FIH.
Rosa de Massa played a key role in hockey not only in Argentina or for the Pan American Hockey Federation; she gave a lot of her time to the FIH and for the promotion of hockey worldwide.
Rosa de Massa was FIH Vice-President from 1984-2001 and also served as Pan American Hockey representative in the FIH Executive Board from 2004-2008. She was made an Honorary Life Member of the Pan American Federation in 2007.
She also had an extensive career as technical official. Rosa de Massa was Tournament Director of FIH World Level Events such as the World Cup and the Pan American Games. She served as Technical Official at the 1984 Olympic Games and was a member of the Appeal Jury at several other Olympic Games.
The FIH, PAHF and hockey will lose with the death of Rosa de Massa a highly respected, wise, intelligent and diplomatic woman.
