The Barbados Hockey Federation Inc. (BHF) is looking to fill the positions of High Performance Head Coach Men and High Performance Head Coach Women.

Summary

Two positions are available for the posts of Men's High Performance Head Coach and Women's High Performance Head Coach. The High Performance Head Coaches will be responsible for organizing the Field Hockey programs for the National Men's/Women's Teams. The Head Coaches will assist with conducting practices, motivating players, and instructing players in game strategies and techniques required for excellence at the international level.


Key Responsibilities
The Head Coaches will be solely responsible and accountable for the direction and success of the Senior Men's/Women's National Teams and Programs. The successful candidates must have proven ability and experience in developing a high performance training environment and programs. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Responsibility for the development and oversight of the Men’s/Women's Senior National Programs within the framework of the Barbados Hockey Federation's High Performance Strategy.
  • Responsibility for the leadership and development of a high performance culture within the Men’s/Women's Senior National Programs.
  • Responsibility for the Men's/Women's Senior National Team program management including annual planning, assessment of strategic opportunities and program implementation.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required)
Personal requirements to be submitted or required prior to commencement are:

  • Valid Drivers Permit
  • Valid Passport
  • Valid US Visa and the ability to qualify for international travel
  • Pass a criminal record check

The below Technical Requirements are to be submitted along with the application for the position:

  • A demonstrated, proven record of coaching excellence at the national junior and national senior levels and extensive experience in club development, preferably at the elite level.
  • A minimum certification of PAHF (Pan American Hockey Federation) Certified Coach or PAHF Level 2 Certification or its equivalent is required. If this requirement is not satisfied at the time of application, the applicants must have commenced the PAHF Certified Coach, PAHF Level 2, or equivalent program and will be required to prepare a written plan for the completion of certification requirements. Consideration will be given to persons with national coaching experience within the last 2 years.
