Braulio Céspedes Calderon arrived in the Chilean Federation of Hockey in 1986 while still studying , since there never withdrew from the sport, his position is the Technical Secretary of the Chilean Federation which makes him very close to all processes, therefore tries to be the best contribution for the national’s teams.
Braulio? We see some changes in the team at the last moment what happened?
We had various drawbacks, two players were injured, there was no authorization club following the end of participation in leagues in which they participate; the League Honor Argentina Mendocino Tournament, and the Chilean League Play- Off. Nor had the authorization from the universities because it is a difficult time for exams.
Have several very young players on this team. Were they prepared for this challenge?
It is an adult projection team, with 4 players belonging to the adult regular team, the rest are players who train regularly for the sub 21 team. The team prepared in the best way we could.
Having completed? Second day of the tournament, what chance do you think Chile has? Will they will fight for the gold?
Undoubtedly very important results were achieved, but there is 1 match, and mathematically are three countries that can play the final, we are waiting for it and could be there.
We are surprised that Chile did not enroll their women's team, what happened?
The designation of participating teams is for the Chilean Olympic Committee, in the case of hockey, they just designated the participation of male team, as they did in other disciplines.
What are your plans for your Chilean team in the short and medium term? What are the main objectives?
In the short term the male team has different fundamental and preparatory events for the same: Games ODESUR in March 2014, and the preparation for the 4 Nations between Chile, Argentina, Canada and Mexico.
In the medium term we aim to go to World League, Round 1 2014.
In the long term we will aimed to go to the Pan American Games 2015.
