Representative teams of the Cuban provinces are ready to play their Field Hockey National League for both men and women, the competition will take place at the clay pitch “José Ramón Cepero” located in the central Cuban province Ciego de Ávila.
Women’s tournament will start on March 9 thru 16th with the participation of Las Tunas(LTU), Sancti Spíritu(SSP), Villa Clara(VCL), Santiago de Cuba(SCU) and Ciego de Ávila, the host.
Men’s tournament will take place March 18 -25 with the participation of Villa Clara(VCL), Las Tunas(LTU), Ciego de Ávila(CAV) y La Habana (LHA). All of them will be battling for the Cuban Field Hockey National Championship.
Goodbye to pitch and hockey sticks
Women stars, Yadira Puentes Queralta and Aglais Serrano Mustelier (Chochó), former players of the Cuban National Team, will say goodbye to their life as active athletes on March 14th, 2013 during the National League to be hosted by Ciego de Ávila on March 9-16. Both players were born in Santiago de Cuba Province and played at a number of international events, being 2007 Pan American Games in Rio their last participation in the National Team.
