2013 South American Championships - Final - Argentina vs. Chile

Argentina and Chile in the final of the Men’s South American Championship

Argentina and Chile will play in the Final of the 2013 South American Championship at the Catholic University Stadium in Santiago de Chile. Brazil and Peru will battle for the third place, and Uruguay and Paraguay will play the fifth position.  

The last day of  Round Robin was played Under a sunny sky at San Carlos de Apoquindo.

Peru beat Paraguay 4-0 in the first match of the day, and Argentina won 11-0 in the match against Uruguay. Host Chile made a difference of 3-0 against the Brazilians in the last game of the day.

Paraguay and Uruguay will open last day of competition, and the battle for the Bronze will be Peru vs. Brazil; in the final match Argentina will meet Chile. The final, will be on TV on Vive Deportes de Chile at 6:30pm.


Argentina and Chile in the final of the Women’s South American Championship

Argentinean and Chile will play in the Final of the Championship at the Catholic University Stadium in Santiago de Chile. Uruguay and Brazil will go for the Bronze and Paraguay and Peru will play for the fifth place.

Argentina won the five matches of the pool. The last game of the pool was against Brazil and they got a victory of 3-0 over Brazil. Once Argentina had qualified, the team tried to increase the score from the penalty corners, but only scored twice from the 16 attempts. 

The first match of the day was Paraguay and Peru. The ‘Guarani’ team was able to score 4- 0 and gain 4 points. Brazil had the same number of points but due to goal difference will play Peru, who has not been able to win along the competition, in the game for the fifth and sixth place.

The most exciting game of the day was Chile vs Uruguay that played for a place in the final. The locals beat Uruguay and won a ticket to the final match.

The match for the gold will be on Saturday 4:30 pm and will go on TV on Vive Deportes, VTR Sports Channel.
