Favorite Argentina had two easy victories against Peru and Paraguay. They won on opening day of the Championship 19-0 against Peru, then the next day 19-1 against Paraguay.
Chile also obtained two victories. The host beat Paraguay 17-0, then Uruguay 8-0. The locals had the support of a large number of fans that came to the stadium to enjoy the matches.
Uruguay is in third position with a narrow win over Brazil on the first day of the Championship.
Brazil, after losing their opening match against Uruguay, had a draw with Peru.
