In a match that was defined in the shootouts, the Trinidad and Tobago team achieved their qualification for the Pan American Cup and their ticket to the final of the PanAmerican Challenge 2021.

The first half of the match ended goalless. Both teams failed to break the opposing goal. It was not until minute 37 that the Trinidadians scored the first goal of the match. Shaniah de Freitas, number 7 of the Caribbean team, would score by penalty corner. Las Aguaras did not give up and with courage they managed to score the tie in the last quarter through María Catebra by the same route.

In the round of shootouts, Arresia Sandy, Trinidad and Tobago goalkeeper, would be the star of his team, managing to save her goal 3 times. The Trinidadians beat the Paraguayan team 3-4 and thus became the second team qualified for the Pan American Cup and the second finalist in the contest.

On the last day of the tournament, Paraguay will play third place against Brazil, and the Trinidad and Tobago team will face Peru in the grand final of the PanAmerican Challenge 2021.
