Match Report

Guyana earned their first 3 points when they beat Bermuda 1-0 in the day’s second Pool B match at the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games (Women).

Bermuda and Guyana played to a 0-0 stalemate at the end of the first half. Guyana had most of the possession but were unable to make use of the scoring chances they created. Bermuda defended very well and tried to hit Guyana on the break but they too were unable to get on the scoreboard.

The second half continued along the same vein until Guyana’s Leigh SANDISON broke the deadlock in the 55th minute when she scored from a Bermuda turnover near the circle to seal her team’s first victory of the competition.

Guyana will play their final Pool B game on 20 November 2014 at 7:30 a.m. against Trinidad and Tobago. Bermuda remains winless after their three pool games.
