One game, two winners

Full stands at Manquehue Club in the last game of Day 2 of women’s competition at the South 
American Championships. Chile and Brazil were rivals at the pitch and the stands. Fans of both 
teams had a kind of songs competition in a struggle to encourage their National Teams. 
In the first half both teams Chile and Brazil, were restless in their attack, thou inconsistent as 
none of them were able to score. At this stage, GKs were the key, and especially the Brazilian, 
Andrea Gomes, who had a great performance. The “ Diablas” and the “Canarias” went to the 
break with a draw 0-0. 

There was an important change in the second period. Brazil could only keep the pace in the 
first minutes, and big mistakes in the defense gave the chance to Chile, who scored 4 times 
from penalty corners. Finally the game had two results; Chile gained the match 5-0 and Brazil 
was the winner at the stages in the fans songs competition, for their teams.
