VEN-PAR X ODESUR Games – South American Championship - DAY 6

Paraguay gave its farewell to the Championship with the first victory

Venezuela and Paraguay faced each other again to define the fifth and sixth place in the women’s South American Championship. The team coached by Eliberto Sarduy had a very good start. In the minute 14th Stephanie Gonzalez changed a penalty corner for a goal. But Paraguay would take again control of the game drawing the match and scoring another own-goal later. By the end of the first half Paraguay lead the game 2-1.

The second half was even for both teams, and both teams had chances to attack each other, but were not effective to improve their scores. Paraguay won for the first time and obtained the fifth place in the South American Championship. Venezuela ended up 6th

The final score was 2-1 in favor of Paraguay.
