Match Report

URU-PER - X ODESUR Games – South American Championship - DAY 4
Although Uruguay did not play well, could celebrate victory over Peru
Today, Perú and Uruguay men’s played in day 4 of South American Championship. “Los
Celestes” were beaten by Venezuela yesterday and were left without words; this time they
came out looking for their first victory in this tournament. Perú, a team going thru the process of
full replacement of players and a long term development strategy, was looking for performance
improvement.
First half did not have a good pace, and none of them could set the offensive systems the
way they intended to do, and committed certain fouls that led the officials to get cards for both
teams. However, during the first 20 minutes, Uruguay created some clear scoring situations,
and went to the break with 3 goals in its favor.
During second half, Uruguay came back more determined than ever to draw back its first half
inconsistencies, and increased the score in an overwhelming way. Perú stood at their end, but
that was not enough to neutralize the attack fronts of Uruguay. By then, the game result was
decided, and it finished with the victory of Uruguay by an 8-0 final score.
