CHI-URU X ODESUR Games– South American Championships – DAY 2

Chile and Uruguay closed day 2 of the South American Championships. It was an exciting

match with a noisy crowd of fans supporting their National team.

Uruguay and Chile struggled for the ball possession, but none of them managed to take real

advantage. Chile had a few opportunities breaking Uruguay’s defense and gained a number of

penalty corners, but could not capitalize and the first half came to an end without goals.

Fans grew more demanding in the second half. Chile pushed Uruguay back deep into their area

and the perseverant work of the Chileans was rewarded when Vicente Martinez opened the

score. A few minutes before the end of the match Chile found a new opportunity and scored

again, sealing the match 2-0 in favor of the host.
