Argentina made a clear demonstration they are willing to retain their leadership
In the first game of the V South American Championship Peru played against Argentina. Peru resisted 11 minutes the fierce pace of Argentina, until Guillermo Schikendantz netted the third penalty corner putting his team in the lead.
The Argentineans were clearly dominating the match at all times, but it wasn’t until the 1-0 that their strength was reflected in the score. In 24 minutes Argentina converted 7 more goals before half time; the lead was now 8-0.
In the second half, nothing changed, Peru was unable to find the way out of their half with an advantage, and Argentineans seemed to have 12 or 14 players in the pitch, as each and every way out for the Peruvians, was blocked.
Thus it was not surprise that the Argentineans scored 11 times in the second half. The final score was Argentina 19 Perú 0.
