M2 | Round-Robin | 2:45pm | URU - BRA | 0 - 0 | Final |
The second Men’s match of the 2011 Pan American Challenge was between Uruguay and Brazil. Both teams fought hard for possession and prevented each other from taking shots. Throughout much of the first half, play was back and forth in the midfield. With a few minutes remaining in the first half, Uruguay earned a couple of penalty corners, but Brazil’s keeper Daniel TATARA had big saves to keep Uruguay from scoring. The score remained a 0-0 tie at halftime.
The second half of the match between Uruguay and Brazil was equally an intense and hard fought battle for possession. Both teams had few scoring opportunities in the second half because both teams played sound defense. Also, both Uruguay and Brazil were unable to score off the few penalty corners they received in the second half. Amongst many loud fans from both countries, the players seemed to get progressively intense and physical. However, neither could manage to score. Thus, the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
