The Netherlands Antillean National Hockey Association (NAHA) has launched its school hockey program.

As a kick-off in March a total of 5 hockey clinics were conducted at different local schools on Curacao. Approx 170 kids in the age bracket of 8-12 had the opportunity to see and experience what field hockey is actually all about. With great fun and enthusiasm the kids got their firsthand skill training with sticks and balls.

NAHA's objective is to promote school hockey as part of the overall hockey development plan for the 5 islands of the Antilles. The long-term aim is to fully integrate school hockey as part of the school's sporting curriculum.

In the following months/years, NAHA will continue to channel considerable resources towards this valuable program. The school hockey program is currently sponsored by the private sector, coordinated by the NAHA Board and actively supported by members of the National Teams.
