The Pan American Hockey Federation held its annual Board and Committee meetings in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on July 28-30, 2006 within the framework of the Men's and Women's CAC Games (Central America and Caribbean Games)

The following are the key highlights from the Meetings.

  1. New National Association Member:

    The Pan American Hockey Federation is excited about it's work in getting new member nations to join the world hockey community. The PAHF is on target with its goal of having four new members by its congress in 2007.

  2. PAHF Strategic Plan:

    The PAHF strategic plan was updated for years 2006-2009. All committees set performance indicators so that the committees will be working towards key objectives set by the PAHF Board for the development of hockey in the Americas. These objectives are consistent with those set by the FIH for the global development of hockey.

  3. Pan American Games:

    The PAHF Board received an update report on the organization of the hockey event at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. At the CAC games it was confirmed that the teams from Cuba (m) Trinidad and Tobago (m), Cuba (w) and Netherlands Antilles (w) have qualified for the 2007 Pan American Games. A playoff series between the men's teams from USA and Mexico will be held for the last available place in the 2007 Pan American Games. The date and neutral location is to be determined by the PAHF.

  4. Club Championships:

    A new proposal was made for the PAHF club championships. Details of the tournament will be available on the PAHF Web site by August 1, 2006

  5. PAHF Coaching Course certificates were awarded following the coaching seminar held during the CAC Games. The following coaches received certificates:
