TEAMS ANNOUNCED FOR THE 2ND PAN AMERICAN CUPS

The Pan American Hockey Federation has announced the names of the countries that will participate in the women's and men's 2nd Pan American Cup competitions in 2004.

In the women's event, to be held in Bridgetown, Barbados, April 21 - 28, the eight countries are Argentina, Barbados, Canada, Chile, Netherlands Antilles, Trinidad & Tobago, Uruguay and USA. The format of the tournament will be two pools of four with crossover and classification games.

The men's competition, scheduled for London, Ontario, Canada, May 12 - 23, will feature 12 countries, namely Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Cuba, Mexico, Netherlands Antilles, Puerto Rico, Trinidad & Tobago, Uruguay, USA and Venezuela. The format of the tournament will be two pools of six with crossover and classification games.

The winner of each tournament will qualify for the FIH World Cup in 2006. The previous Pan American Cups were won by Argentina (women) and Cuba (men).
