PAHF High-Performance Coaching Course

London, Ontario, Canada - May 14-16, 2004

Level: The course is designed for coaches working with High Performance Athletes. Applicants must have the necessary credentials i.e. validation that they are coaching at an advanced level (Club, University, Provincial or State).

Note: High Performance coaches may apply to attend both the Development (May 11 to 13) and the High Performance Coaching Course (May 14 to May 16). Both Application Forms must be submitted. Applicants for both courses will be selected on a first come first served basis.

Location: London, Ontario. Canada

Dates: May 14, 2004, (opening session in the morning) through to May16 at the closing ceremonies of the coaching course.

Course conductors: FIH Master Coach Rodolfo Mendoza, former Olympic and Women's World Cup Coach, Argentina, assisted by Sherry Doiron, Field Hockey Canada, Coaching Staff (Women's National Program).

Course content: The emphasis will be placed on the analysis of tactics and strategies utilized in the game at the international level. The content will include observation of systems, set pieces, goalkeeping, attacking and defending play. The playing profiles of the teams participating in the Men's Pan American Cup will be discussed. (Some field sessions are scheduled for the tournament field and others for grass fields and/or the gymnasium).

Costs: All expenses are the responsibility of the course participant. Accommodation and meals have been arranged in university residences.
