Canada - Barbados : 3-2
Chile - Brazil : 6-0

Canada - Barbados : 3 - 2

Canada had to dig deep in order to get past a plucky Barbados outfit in very close competitive Pool B affair, while Chile thwarted Brazil in an almost one-side contest on the second day of the Ninth Pan Pam Junior Men’s Hockey Tournament being contest here in Trinidad and Tobago at the National Hockey Centre (NHC), yesterday.

In the day’s opener, Barbados put in a sterling effort to be beaten down the stretch 3-2 by a more experience Canada unit, who were coming off a 15-0 over Guyana last Friday.

Stephen Bissett robbed the boys from the land of the "Flying Fish" their first points of the tournament, when he found the winner for Chile three minutes from time of the 70-minute encounter via a well worked 67th minute field goal.

Before that, though, Keegan Pereira also notched a field item to open the scoring for the Canadians, who now have six points from their two victories.

Striker Connor Meakin netted his third item of the campaign in the 39th minute to restore the Canadians advantage.

This came after Barbados’ best player of the day Errol Clarke scored an equalizing effort to square the evenly-contested Pool B affair at 1-1 in the 35th minute. That was the scoreline at the break.

Che Warner hit the second equalizer for a resolute Barbados side in the 49th minute, before Bissett denied them a share of the spoils in the dying moment.

Chile - Brazil : 6 - 0

In another game from the Pool, Chile extended their winning record to two-in-two, following a comprehensive 6-0 win over Brazil in a patchy affair.

Jan Richer pushed his tally to five, when he fired home three from penalty corner set-ups.

Guyana - Mexico : 0 - 13

Hard-playing Mexico overran winless Guyana- after a pair of outings-13-0, with Fransisco Montoya Aguilar bagging six of them and Edgard Sliva Borquez three.

Oscar Gonzales Cardenas also produced the first penalty stroke of the tournament in the 27th minute.

The Mexicans led by a eight-goal spread at the interval, before adding a handful more in the second stanza to take their tournament's goal tally to 21.

Jamaica - USA : 0 - 7

Jamaica put a reasonable performance against the USA in a Pool A match-up, before bowing out 7-0 losers.

The main man in the glory for the USA,who were playing their first game of the competition, was Will Holt,who netted five times as the American held the upper hand at 3-0 to go to the break.

Holt scored on four occasions from penalty corner plays .The other couple of items in the easy success for the USA came off the stick of Manny Martinez (PC) and captain Jonathan Ginolfi,who counted the second penalty shot of the tournament.

Argentina - Puerto Rico : 9 - 1

In pouring rain from sunny condition earlier in the day and in the final contest on Day Two schedule of the Ninth Edition of the Tournament, eight-time champions Argentina washed Puerto Rico 9-1 on the back of a 15-0 triumph over Jamaica in their first outing.

Martin Guido Lopez Barreiros proved to be too much for the Puerto Ricans defence, netting three times to help put the winners up by 4-0 at intermission.

In second period, the champs continued their dominance and registered five more to make it two-in-two in fine style. The other goals were contributed by four different players.
