It took a 4-2 penalty shootout for 3^rd placed Pool B finisher Guyana to beat 4^th placed Pool A finisher Jamaica in the 2^nd 5-8 crossover match. The fulltime score was 0-0.

Jamaica started the first half brightly with forwards Ebony McLEAN and Trudy-Ann KNIGHT proving difficult for Guyana’s defence to manage. Both players created several opportunities in the opening minutes but were unable to put any of them away.  Guyana grew into the game as midfielders Leigh SANDISON and Chantelle FERNANDES got more involved and settled their team.

Neither team could find the cutting edge in the game to finish off their chances, with Jamaica having the better of the play for most of the game.  Jamaica’s Sauwana GORDON and Guyana’s Ulrica SUTHERLAND were instrumental in keeping their teams’ defence organized.

Guyana’s Gabriella XAVIER, Leigh SANDISON, Chantelle FERNANDES and Ulrica SUTHERLAND scored in the penalty shoot-out while Kamille GRIFFITHS and Chakira AIREY scored for Jamaica.

Jamaica will play Bermuda in the 7^th/8^th place match at 8:45 a.m. and Guyana will face Barbados in the 5^th/6^th place match at 11:00 a.m. on 23 November 2014.
