Match Report

Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana played to a 0-0 draw in the final game of Pool B in the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games (Women) and Trinidad will join Dominican Republic as the qualifiers for the semi- final round.

Neither team were able to get on the scoreboard in the first half. Trinidad, who dominated possession, lacked the cutting edge in the circle as they created numerous scoring opportunities but were let down by faulty finishing. A very organized Guyana defended very well as a team and as the half progressed they were able to launch a few attacks but could not convert any of them.

It was more of the same in the second half with Trinidad creating the better scoring chances but they failed to get the ball past Guyana’s goalkeeper Alysa XAIVER, who was outstanding in goal. Guyana ended their pool matches in 3rd place with 4 points.
