Mexico moved on to the semi-final round of the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games (Men) when they beat Barbados 4-2 in their final Pool B match.

The home team was very efficient going forward with Luis ESTRADA and Francisco AGUILAR scoring 1 goal each in the 10^th and 14^th minute respectively. Barbados however quickly cut that deficit in half when Shonkeel WHARTON scored a rebound from a penalty corner shot 3 minutes later. Mexico’s Edgar BORQUEZ increased his team’s lead to 3-1 right at half time with a well taken penalty stroke.

Mexico consolidated their lead at the start of the second half when Pol MORENO added another goal to his team’s tally. Barbados fought until the end and got their second goal with Akeem RUDDER scoring with two minutes to go in the match.

2^nd place Barbados will face 3^rd place Jamaica on 20 November 2014 at 3:30pm to determine which team will join Mexico in the semi-final round.
